Mara Beck received her Bachelor of Science Degree with a double major in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master of Science Degree in Communicative Disorders from Arizona State University.
Mara then completed her Clinical Fellowship Year at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles through the University Affiliated Program, which involved a trans-disciplinary team approach to evaluating and treating children with neuro-developmental disorders.
She is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist and has worked extensively in medical, school and home settings over 18 years. Mara has worked with a variety adult and pediatric populations/diagnoses including Speech and Language Delays/Disorders, Articulation/ Phonological Delays, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Developmental Apraxia of Speech, Stroke Rehabilitation, Head Injury, Feeding Concerns and Oral-Motor Delays.
Mara loves working with children and specializes in early intervention and school-aged pediatric speech and language concerns. She especially enjoys providing therapy in the home setting and working with families to help children reach their full communicative potential.
Mara lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband, and three children – a 12 year old and 9-year-old twins.
